Sean is a Teenager!

Yesterday was Sean's thirteenth birthday so he is now officially a teenager!  He is really excited about that!  As is tradition the birthday boy gets to pick where he has his birthday dinner and this year he picked the Old Spaghetti Factory.  That was an excellent choice!  The waitresses sang Happy Birthday to him!  He was a little bit embarrassed but I think he secretly loved it!  Then we came back to his house for presents and the traditional Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake!
He was pretty spoiled with lots of ear buds, games for his Xbox, gift cards to buy more games, and a cool pop-up tent.  With all of his presents I think he was most excited about an entire batch of fudge that his Grandma made him!  He loves his Grandma's fudge!  I sure do love this kid...er...teenager!

Tashena is Seventeen!

Tashena turned seventeen on Saturday and we had our family birthday party for her yesterday.  Once again, she chose to have her birthday dinner at Cafe Rio (excellent choice!) then we came back home to open presents and have cake.
Grandma, Grandpa, and Marilyn gave her gift cards to Kohl's, H & M, and Old Navy.  She was very happy!  Marilyn also gave her some new ear buds (she loses them!).
I gave her some body spray from Bath & Body Works.  She sent me pictures of the specific fragrances she wanted but they are only available seasonally.  She told me that she trusted me to pick some out for her!  I hope she likes them (I really liked pink cashmere).
Her mom and dad gave her a foot spa and lots of goodies to pamper herself with!
After presents we had cake!  We have a tradition in our family of having an ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins.  Tashena's had chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and it was delicious!  Happy Birthday Tashena!

Twelve

Sean turned twelve years old on Saturday and our family celebrated his birthday yesterday.  The birthday boy or girl gets to pick the menu for their birthday dinner and since Tashena picked Cafe Rio, Sean decided to go to Chick-A-Rama.  Then we came back to his house for presents and cake.
Sean's parents got him an Xbox One (which he has already been playing with) and a Pokemon game for his 3DS.
Marilyn and Grandma and Grandpa got him some clothes and a Fire Stick with a game controller for his TV.  He was pretty happy about that!
I got him the Halo game for his Xbox One and an Amazon gift card so he can download apps on his Fire Stick.  (I think I want a Fire Stick for Christmas).
After presents we had the traditional ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.
I sure do love this kid and I hope he has a lot of fun with all of his new games!

Sweet Sixteen!

Tashena turned sixteen last Friday and we had our family celebration on Sunday.  The birthday boy or girl gets to pick the dinner menu and Tashena opted for Cafe Rio.  We all thought that was a great choice!  Then she opened her presents.
Her Grandma and Grandpa gave her lots of clothes (which is what she always asks for).  My Mom was so excited to give Tashena her present that she wanted to go first!
She wanted dresses!
Sean was just as excited as my Mom to give Tashena her present!
He picked out the nail polish, remover, and emery board all by himself (one of the polish colors is camo glitter).  It was kind of adorable!
Tashena always wants clothes but I am really nervous about picking things out for her so I got her a big gift card to Old Navy.
I put the gift card in this giant bag with ten sheets of tissue paper.  When she removed all of the tissue paper, she couldn't see it.  She legitimately thought that I didn't give her anything and said, "It's the thought that counts."  We laughed and laughed and I had her look a little harder!
Marilyn gave her a really cute outfit and more nail polish.
Then we had the traditional Baskin Robbins ice cream cake.  I hope you had a great birthday Tashena!

Sean is Eleven

Last night we celebrated Sean's eleventh birthday with dinner (he picked hamburgers and fries as he always does), an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins (chocolate cake and chocolate chip ice cream), and presents (his big present was a 3DS).  Words cannot express how much I love this boy!  He makes us laugh all of the time and he is so smart and sensitive.  Here are some other pictures from his party.
His 3DS!  It is seriously cool because you play games in 3D!
He got lots of games for his 3DS.
When Sean is interested in something, he gets really obsessed with it.  For a while he has been really obsessed with being a spy and getting lots of spy gadgets.  Now he is obsessed with magic.  Out of all the presents he got, this is the one that captivated him for the rest of the evening!
With his cake!  I can't believe that Sean is eleven!  When did this happen?
